On Monday, the 23rd of June we attended Fiona and Rob's wedding. The ceremony began at 2 pm in a very pretty Church by the sea. It was generally the same as wedding ceremonies in the States. The bridesmaids and groomsmen wore light green. Bridesmaids

We did notice that quite a few women were wearing interesting head pieces/hats that you don't see very often back in the States, though maybe in the South?

After the ceremony we headed over to the reception at a nice hotel just down the road from the Church. We had drinks and champagne in a bar area until we went in for the sit down dinner around 6 pm. There was lots of yummy food! We sat next to two friends Joe had traveled with on his trip through Asia/Oz and their dates so that was fun. Rob, Mel, Orla, Chris

Kathy (Rob's sister) and Dave (Fiona's brother) who are also married and were at our wedding were there too. It was great to see them before they went back to Oz. We will stay with them for a bit when we get to Sydney. The toasts were right after dinner. Waiters had come around earlier and we chose any drink we wanted for the toast, not champagne. They had a band for awhile followed by a DJ. We participated in some classic silly wedding dancing and even Joe had to admit he enjoyed it. Around 1 or 2 am things were moved out to the bar again. A bit of a sing along was starting up when we went up to bed around 3:30 am. It was mostly family of the bride and groom that were still going strong and they said they were there until breakfast! We had loads of fun and were glad we could be there!
