Day 3 at sea. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 80s with winds of about 25 mph so it is breezy on deck. In fact, today they had to cancel the shuffleboard tournament because it was too windy.

Another agonizing day of decision making. Do I go to the Iron Chef competition, involving 3 ship's officers , each with two guests from the ship, cooking some dish in 20 minutes after spending 2 minutes gathering ingredients (always humorous) OR do I go to try to win at "corn hole(bean bag toss)" ? Today, the Iron Chef competition won.

We did attend an interesting lecture by a Jordanian jewelry artist who is on board selling her custom made jewelry. Today she spoke about Arabian culture and Traditions as we are visiting several of the more traditional Arab countries in the next few days.

We competed in the trivia contest yesterday again with the same team but did not win One of the questions we missed was: what French site is most visited by tourists? It is not the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre!

Saw a funny British comedian/magician last night. Best entertainer so far. His one liners were hilarious.

We exited the Red Sea and turned left (east) mid-day and are heading toward our next stop, Oman. Somali is off to our right, so some people are a little anxious about pirates, but we have "preventive" measures in place. One of the guest lecturers gave a talk on pirates, past and present and did show us that the number of piracy attempts is way down from a few years ago. And the few that do happen are mostly aimed at commercial cargo, not cruise ships.

Oops, got to is tea time, featuring cupcakes today( yesterday was crepes) followed by another trivia contest. Then it is cocktail hour time and dinner. Life on cruise ships is soo....hard!!!

We still have one more day at sea before reaching Oman. We will have traveled almost 2000 miles since leaving the Suez Canal.

Beautiful presentation of food. People who care to present food well, have usually cooked it perfectly. Maybe this should be my next gig.
