I can tell that the new car smell is beignning to wear off.  I am not writing as much as when I got here.  That may be a blessing to some of you.

I am still excited about walking home from school after 10 PM in the light - though I can tell that it will fade quite quickly.  I am not excited about working until 10PM like a first-year teacher.

Last night the moon had a halo of blues, greens, and pinks.  Dan was mesmerized and like a kid waiting for Christmas (or Hanukah in his case) he can't wait to see the Northern Lights.  He told me he was out walking with Lindsay the other night and asked if what he saw were the Lights -- and was a wee bit crestfallen when she chuckled and told him it was just the clouds.  But they are on their way:  with all the snow that is falling in fits and starts he will soon get his wish fulfilled.  He already knows to whistle to make them come down.
