All the teachers were introduced to the seniors and then I was able to run off with the other junior high teachers.  Mike Millen (famous from the back bar at The Mad Trapper) made up my last two bulletin boards and moved all the extra texts to the storage room.  We moved my desks into a horseshoe and I feel better about that.  I didn't really get lunch and then it was time for the juniors.  I called out my homeroom and ended up with 8 of the 17 sitting in my newly appointed classroom.  We went over names, the handbook, lockers and locks, and then they went home.  I forgot to hand out agendas.  Oops.  Won't be the last thing I forget to do.

Along with others, I was madly scrambling to get my printer to work - or any printer to work.  I have no class list for tomorrow and no way to print one off.  Back to a good ol' sign up sheet.  I now have one lesson planned and I've chosen a book to read aloud.  Anyone with any other ideas?????   Please.

As I left the school, at 11:30 PM, I glanced to my right and saw a gorgeous sunset.  The sky on the horizon was a salmon pink and a light blue above.  The air was warm and I could easily have taken off my jacket.  As I walked home, towards the river, the wind picked up a little but I didn't want to spoil the sensation of summer.  The sky overhead was a bright blue and to my left it got darker.  I was prepared for a pleasant jaunt home, but on turning left onto Mackenzie the wind blew a bit harder up the street and the moment was gone.  I put on my hat - but only velcro'ed my jacket.

Once home it hit me that this was my first night in my new apartment.  I would have done something special but it was late.  And then I realized I hadn't put the tinfoil on the windows.  It was a little after 1AM when I was done - with the help of Stuart McLean on CBC.  Thanks Stu. . new class setup
