We took a cab this morning to the airport to pick up our rental car for the long drive own to Dindle.
Alas, the sun is shining again! Another beautiful day! Asie from a fe sprinkles Fiay morning, the wwather
has been warm an glorious.
Before I continue, let me recap "A Taste of Dublin" in a sober state. :)
We had a blast! Free food, free drinks, and lots of it! Many, many people, each one friendlier than the next.
We met people from all over the world in the pretty Iveagh Gardens. I took lots of pictures. We heard a great band,
They took our address and promised to mail us a CD
Back to the airport, the car rental from Dan Dooley went smoothly as usual. The drive down to Dingle should take about
four an a half hours. Unlike most of the tiny, winding roeads in Irelan, this was pretty much a straight shot, feeways
most of the way. We made good time, with a few stops for "Petrol" we made good time. Mike has really mastered sitting
in the right side of the car and driving on the left. No sheep or people have been harmed.
Driving along Slea Head Drive, we see some of the most breathtaking scenery I have ever seen in my life. There are
no words to do it justice. I will post pictures when I can. We have no internet, no phone, an no TV in the cootage.
Difficult the first day, but now on Day 3 here, it would be out of place, as we have surely stepped back in time.
The cottage is a stone, pre-famine little house. It has a living room, a kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom, everything
you really need. It's absolutely adorable. As I type this, sitting on the stone terrace by the cottage, I look up to see the
bluest ocean with the Blasket Islands to the right. They have a storied history, which I'll get into later.
