Skeppsholmen, an old naval island had their open day today, showcasing some of the awesome things around the place...including many many historic boats and some not so historic boats. Anyway, it was very cool walking on the decks of some of these ships and checking out the fair that they had on the island. Fried herring, fresh apple juice, maritime goods, torpedos! (not for sale haha) I even got to go up the castle and check out the offices of some of the naval admirals =D (at least that's what I assume them to be =P)
The thing that made my day however were the concerts that were around! An old man with his guitar seeing Swedish sea shantys, an old man and his Swedish folk music, a funky (and a bit hippy) jazz band playing some world/jazz music and to top it off, AWESOME Swedish choirs in a gorgeous church. Ahhh...to hear them again. I really wish I got a CD of them or something...until then, their amazing voices will live on in my memories....and my video...though it doesn't come even close, not even close...*sigh*
Just another week in good old Stockholm. Sometimes I wonder if things like this happen in Melbourne all the time...probably haha, I just can't be bothered going/finding out about them >_< Must spend some time discovering Melbourne when I get back! =D
