So, back in Stockholm after an awesome trip to Belgium and uni's finally starting to pick up =S  Assignments, labs, tutes...*sigh*  STILL, there's always something going on here in Stockholm.  Went for a wander around Sodermalm and Gamla Stan on Tuesday and had some of the famous herring from the famous herring store...mmm, was good!

Wednesday night I saw fireworks to Handels "Fireworks Music"!!!  Preceded by a free outdoor concert of Dancing Queen, Swedish Opera and STAR WARS!! (Which I missed >.<...very sad), all hosted on our KTH uni grounds =D.

Went biking with our 'bike gang'...yes we're all very hard core Djurgarden and beyond on Friday =D.  The day could've been better but the views were still fantastic.  Btw, autumn is well and truly coming to Stockholm, everyday the trees get a little more yellow...I can't wait! =D  We also saw a woodpecker!  Live!  Doing its thing!!!  I'm so glad that our German friend spotted it cos I would've just completely kept going =P...but it was certainly something special.  It didn't even fly away when we started talking to it (I think it was looking down on us tourists...geddit??? XD...looking down!  haha, horrible I know)  The coolest thing was you could feel and hear it pecking if you leaned against the tree ^_^.  The forest was so peaceful too, nice and quiet and tranquil, perfect for an aimless meander lost in your thoughts.  Or as Janis put it, it feels like you've gone back in time to the dinosaurs where a T-Rex could jump out any minute! XD  You would not believe that 20 mins away was Stockholm city =)  Btw, on our bike trip, we found:
>    A ski jumping track that led directly into a lake (slightly worrying there =S)
>    A horse yard?? (place for all that jumping, trotting, prancing...other posh horsey things)
>    A mountain bike trail which OF COURSE was the way home.  Lemme tell you, mountain bike       trail on a city bike with bad breaks is NOT a good idea's a cool track though!
>    An airfield (well, a helicopter took off from it =P)
>    And a MASSIVE area for sports, kites, running...anything.

Then today, we go to Drottningholm, current residence of the Royal Family...unfortunately, no glimpses of the royal family itself but touring the rooms were pretty cool.  Definitely not as impressive as the Spanish Royal Palace in Madrid but it had that northern European, minialistic, refined touch.  Checked out a 17th century Baroque theatre...was not worth the 70 extra kronors to get in but was cool to see I guess.  Lee got to make wind! (no not that kind =P).  Finished off with a the Chinese Pavillion which was something.  Not so much Chinese haha but you could see what their intention was.  Oriental European fusion!
