Speaking of hot girls. La Plata. La Plata is a college city about an hour outside of BA. No tourist ever goes here because there is no reason to go here. Except of course for hot girls, apparently. Of course I have only found the error in my ways, by not coming here, yesterday by coming here. This is were Aug lived when he was in Argentina because this is where his job was based, otherwise he would have been in BA.
Yesterday, the four of us (Aug, Tom, Balci and I) rolled through to visit Aug's host family and have dinner with them. Dinner was fun and we had a good time chatting with the family. After some ice cream for dessert, we went out to the bars to check out the night life.
College town night life. Full of hot Argentinian girls that have been deprived of gringo attention (which for whatever stupid reason they want) because gringo tourists never come through here. And boy does it show. We had all the girls attention. They all wanted to talk to us, but most too shy to do anything about it. Don't get me wrong, its not like the 'CATS' musical where you are surrounded by a bunch of girls on their knees worshiping you and waving their arms at you to come talk to you.... but sometimes it sure feels like it, hehe.
God damn Balci with his blond hair and blue eyes is loved by all the girls. They see him and melt. Too bad the kid has a girlfriend and can't speak a word of Spanish (I actually have to give him credit, by the end of his trip he was able to put some words together to form some sentences). I would tell the girls that he couldn't speak Spanish, but that he can speak French (this is actually only partially true since he took French in high school but has long lost it) and they would melt even more. 'He speaks French?! *insert sound of melting hearts here*' This would actually piss Balci off every time I said this since he couldn't speak French and they would always want to hear him speak French. I always got a kick out of it. Tom and Aug were actually also at a loss since they both have girlfriends too. So there I am the only asshole of us four who is single, talking to all the girls with little or no wingman help. Poor me I know. You should know that it is actually tough work.
They were celebrating St. Patty's day (they celebrate it here on the weekend so that people can go out and drink), so the streets were packed outside the Irish bar. We pretty much drank and hit on girls. Every guy that goes to Argentina should spend some time in La Plata when school is in session. You will not be disappointed.
