Damn.  The last two and a half weeks here in La Cumbre have been
awesome.  I now have 17 solo flights under my belt.  My longest flight
being an hour and 10 minutes, the average being about 30min.  The
flying conditions have been just about perfect (this is the best time
of the year to fly here in La Cumbre); the wind comes steadily from the
north and not too strong, and the rain has been fairly tame.  It's a
huge change from when I was here months ago and the weather and wind
didn't play along.

My days pretty much consist of getting up at 8am, paraglide all day,
get back to my place around 8 or 9pm, then head out to eat and get
drinks, party till sometime in the early morning (sometimes 6am, ouch),
and then repeat.  I love my sleep, but I have been content these past
few weeks without it, too many other things to be doing I guess.

I have been hanging out a lot with Noemi and the fam.  I'm invited over
for lunch, dinner and drinks just about every day.  I usually couldn't make
lunch because I was out flying, but I was almost always over for dinner and
drinks.  Noemi's place is like a central gathering place, there are
always people stopping by to say hello, chat, see whats going on, eat or have a few drinks. I guess there is a lot of extra
activity in the house right now since Paula and Ana Sophia are around.

Usually after dinner and lots of drinks over at their place, Paula, Ana
Sophia, Fran (Paula's other half) and I would meet up with some of
their friends and go drinking in various spots.  Met up with Tristan
and Antonia several times for beer and food.  There have been tons of
asados of various people as well, so I have been getting my
Argentinian-prescribed dosage of delicious meat again.

In other news, the fro that was growing on my head has finally been
trimmed.  I have been growing it out since leaving for Patagonia (about
3.5months) and it has been fro-ing out in every direction without me
having to do anything to it.  It looks like my hair is actually kind of
curly now.  Anyways, it was beginning to look ridiculous, so ridiculous
in fact that people began to tell me that I looked way better with
short hair.  So I had Fran cut it for me.  She did an awesome job
trimming it down and making the mess look quite good.

Looking at buying some used paragliding gear as well.  Tested out the
glider several times, and found a decent harness.  Now I got to get out
some dollars to buy the damn things.  I will have to pick up some other
gear as well, but with the glider and harness I should be just about
all set.  Still missing a reserve chute.

Its been a fantastic 2.5wks of flying and partying.  I'm totally not
ready to leave here, in fact I would love to stay here for quite some
time if I had the option.  But its time to leave.  On the bright side,
I have to leave because I am meeting friends from the US that are
flying down to visit.  Meeting one of my best buddies from Austin, Dan,
in BA this Sunday.  He has got three weeks and we will be cruising
around Argentina checking out all the big spots.

Luckily I will be returning to La Cumbre two more times, but only for a
couple of days each time.  At least I didn't have to say the final good
bye...... yet.
