So I grabbed the train from Arhus to Frederikshavn and did a small trip to Skagen. By the time I got my ferry ticket for the next day, did some emailing and putzed around the town for a bit, it was dinner time. I decided to take a train to Skagen which is the northern most point in Denmark.

Its a pretty cool little port town mixed with a beach town feel to it. I grabbed some stuff at the super market to make a sandwich and headed down to the port. Kind of sucked sitting there by myself eating my sandwich since I was just hanging out by myself. I talked to this fisherman who was about to leave on his daily run and he gave me a short lesson on fishing in Norway, it was pretty cool.

So I was walking back to the train with a few of my beers to head back home to an empty hostel (the hostel sucked that I was staying at) and I decided that I should talk to some strangers and get out of my shell a bit. I was walking past this sail boat that had some young people hanging out on it and I figured I should talk to them, but I couldn't muster up the nerve to approach a bunch of random people on the back of a sail boat. As soon as I walked passed and chickened out, I decided that I was being a wuss, and I turned around. I approached the boat and asked them if it would be weird if I joined them while I drank beer and waited for my train. They said not at all and that I should definitely drink a beer with them.

There were 4 dudes and a chick on the boat (I can only remember Thomas' and Peter's names) and they were extremely friendly. They were actually from Norway and for their summer vacation they sailed from Norway down to Denmark to party for a bit. Turns out its Peter's boat who's parents are rich as fuck, so they got him a huge sail boat (rough life).

Anyways, we were slamming back beers and then they bring out Jagermiester to do shots while we drunk beer (I hate that stuff, but I will drink just about anything). Before I knew it I had already forgotten about my train and missed it. They invited me to sail with them the next day across the sea to Sweden (I was more or less going in that direction anyway).

Beer ran out and they wanted to go to the bar. I told them that I had only 100 D. Kroner (which is 16 US dollars and is almost worthless if you want to go drinking in Scandanavia). They told me not to worry, that they are rich and drinks are on them tonight (fucking sweet). So they took me to the first bar and we all got drunk. I had my first coffee that I have ever had in my life when one of them bought Irish coffee for us (not sure why), tasted kind of interesting, we'll see if I ever drink another one again.

This story is taking to long.... the short end is, we got drunk, I grabbed the first train back to my hostel and grabbed my ferry to Oslo. The funny part is that I had blacked out for a portion of leaving the bar and then finding myself on a train (I couldn't screw it up that bad, there is only one train) and I had totally forgotten about their invite to go sailing with them over to Sweden until I sobered up on the ferry. I'm such an idiot, it would have been fun sailing over to Sweden.

So it turns out I should talk to strangers more often.
