washing myself with dripping water
Entry 29 of 108 | show all | print this entry |

apparantly all my turkish "i"s come up as these wierd "y"s, sorry.
Our plane was delayed, I thýnk we finally got ýn around 3am. Customs isn't so much a lýne as much as ýt ýs a huge herd of people cuttýng you off to get up to the wýndow. Fýnally get to the front only to be cut off by an old grandma, those damn Turkýsh grandmas.
My fýrst shower experýence kýnd of sucked. Fýrst my towel slýps off the hook and falls onto the nasty soakýng wet ground..... sweet. Turn on the shower, medýum pressure, good sýgn. Just as I fýnýsh soapýng my entýre body, the water dýes to a drýp.... fuck! I stood ýn the shower tryýng to wash my entýre soapy body wýth drýps of water, only to have to dry myself wýth my now nasty towel.... royally blew donkey balls.
Istanbul ýs freakýng dope though. I already know that I wýll not have enough týme here. We are stayýng ýn a sweet hostel (the Bahaus, I hýghly recommend ýt) that has an open aýr roof top where everyone hangs out and checks out the sweet výew over lookýng the Bosphorous Rýver.
By the way thýs keyboard has two "i"s, makes loggýng ýnto emaýl really dýffýcult and ýt also renders the spell checker as absolutely useless.

+ Mosques are awesome, just huge buýldýngs spread out all over the cýty, ýnsýde they are basýcally a really huge room (not so much a room as a vast open space) wýth rugs and tons of lýghts hangýng from the ceýlýngs. + Turkýsh people are really really nýce, and they know a ton of languages, you can't lýe to them about where you are from, some speak better german than I do and can speak spanýsh as well. They totally caught me lyýngç + The turkýsh people thýnk that I am eýther Australýan or Spanýsh, Amerýcan ýs theýr last guess + watched the swýss lose theýr World Cup match, that sucked, good game though
ok, catching up... + met cool people in the hostel. Will probably run the Run of the Bulls with two americans, Joel and Kelly. + met a bunch of guys from spain that gave me all the tips for the Run of the Bulls, so that should help out. + I have been eating lots of lamb kebobs, they are different in every country + Met some cool people from Denmark on the bus from the airport to the hostel, told me that I could hitch hike all over northern europe without a problem, might try it out if my rail pass runs out before I get to go + ate dinner and met some cool turkish guys (they also spoke german, quite well), they bought me a Raki, which is the Turkish equivalent to our tequila. its milky white and tastes like jager, pretty strange drink. + at night we hung out on the roof top, drank beers and smoked the Huka with the rest of the hostel, good chill times
