A buddy from Austin, Scott Brown, has been travelling through Germany and Russia and has stopped by to visit in Switzerland. I took Scott to some places tourists don't get to see. We hiked one of my favorite mountains above my dad's village in Wimmis. We also did a two day hike, where you hike along glaciers and then sleep overnight in a Swiss mountain hut (the hut is at 2840 meters). It was cold, we got caught in the clouds with about 15-20ft of visibility getting us lost for a bit (we even enjoyed a bit of thunder while caught in the clouds, that was a bit of a hair raiser ), but we eventually made it to the top. By the way the hike starts in Kandersteg, it goes up to the Hoturli and you stay in the Blumlisalp Hutte, I highly recommend it to people that have a day and a half, absolutely beautiful. I hope Scott got a good taste of Switzerland while he was here.

I will be travelling with Miranda (aka The Eskimo) for the next six weeks (on and off). She arrives today from London, after having quit her job in NYC. We fly to Turkey on the 25th and afterwards we go to Greece. I don't really know Miranda (we have only met twice) but I am pretty excited to have a new person to travel with and to get to know someone new. Miranda and I got to know each other through a common friend, Nick Gorski. Gorski, I swear we will make it to the Trattoria Sabatina in Florence.
