Yesterday we chilled out. It was Jason's last full day with us, so we pretty much just hung out. We went and checked out the market here, it seemed that most people were all selling the same stuff, I still haven't understood how people can make money when everyone sells exactly the same stuff.
Jason left early this morning. He found some other people that were heading to the airport, so he tagged along to split the fare. It was sad to see Jason go. Its weird for the three of us to hang out when one of us is not around. Jason will be thouroghly missed. And he still walks away with the award for the largest backpack we have seen for a one week trip. Its too bad that Jason didn't have more vacation.
So the tripod has now formed into a bicycle (Jerbo and I) and a unicycle (Jason). Jerbo and I took off for Guatemala around the same time Jason left. We were headed to Flores, Guatemala to do the Tikal Ruins. The border was close, so we took a cab to the border, changed some money, crossed over and took a minibus to Flores. The minibus ride was pretty hot and it was totally packed.
Flores is a colorful little town that is on an island connected by a bridge. The guide book said that people complain how expensive it is, 5 US dollars per person for a hotel room is not expensive. We spent the rest of our day, exploring the streets of Flores. We saw a pretty nice sunset from the hill at the center of the island. Tomorrow we are off to do Tikal.
