Visiting the bar I was supposed to work at

Went back to San Jose on Wednesday so that Chelsea and I could take off on Thursday after her classes were over. We are heading to the Pacific Coast, first to the beach of Manuel Antonio and then further down to the beach of Dominical.
The four hour bus ride between San Jose and Manuel Antonio kind of blows, but at least Chelsea and I got to sit next to each other and hang out. We got in a bit late, but were able to find a room close to the beach for 10 bucks a head.
Tom Kelly's dad ( Tom is one of my best friends from high school) retired to Costa Rica and bought a bar in Manuel Antonio. Its call Coconuts and its right on the beach. Tom and his brother Chris went down to help get the bar up in running order and then Chris stayed behind to help run the bar. Mr. Kelly has owned the bar now for about a year and a half. Chris returned back to the US several months ago now, so its being run only by Mr Kelly.
Anyway, it was in my original plan to come down to Costa Rica and work at their bar. Plans fell through though and I never ended up working there. Chelsea and I swung by to check it out. Mr. Kelly was there and we surprised him (he didn't know that I was in the country and wasn't expecting me). He bought us a few rounds and told us some stories. Quite a few celebrities have rolled through his bar and even played at his bar (that dude from Dispatch, can't remember his name for the life of me now). They have transitioned from a bar to more of a restaurant. Its now a Japanese steak and sushi house. He switched over due to the late hours of the bar and was tired of the drunks that hang out there. It probably would have been kind of cool to work there, but I didn't feel like I was really missing out... its no longer a crazy bar, that would have been fun. It was pretty cool to see where I could have worked.
