Best seafood ever and waterfalls

So we were supposed to get up at 5am to catch the 6am bus, but I guess we had too much fun the night before and got up just after 6am, so we were forced to take the 8am bus. The 8am bus didn't leave till 8:30. Brett, Chelsea and I took the bus to Puntarenas, a port town where we take a ferry across the way to get to Montezuma (our destination). The bus got in at 10:25, which wasn't enough time to pick up cash, grab a cab to the ferry for the 10:30 departure. Yea we weren't doing too hot schedule wise. Good thing none of us really have anywhere to be except a few hours late to paradise.
A great breakfast later and we were on the 12:30 ferry. By the way, Gallo Pinto is the staple breakfast in Costa Rica. Its rice with beans (some other stuff too, onions and cilantro and some other stuff, but mostly rice and beans) with eggs. When I first arrived in Costa Rica, I thought it was ok, kind of bland. But now if the place knows how to make a good gallo, then there is nothing else I want for breakfast, its great stuff.
We eventually made it to Montezuma by 3 on Saturday. After finding us a nice air conditioned room, we found ourselves enjoying the last few rays of sun on a beautiful beach. Brett and I caught some awesome wailers (body surfing waves).
After chilling out a bit some other Germans that were at our hotel, we headed to grab some grub. When in Rome, do whatever they do in Rome.... when in Montezuma, eat the seafood.... its amazing. Brett, Chelsea and I sat down to a huge meal, gluttony was definitely the case here. We feasted on Dorado, shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, dessert and crazy banana with rum mixed drinks. The squid was the most amazing squid I have ever had in my life. We tried to move after dinner and failed miserably.
Sunday rolled around and we were still moving slowly from dinner. Today is super bowl Sunday. The plan is to hit up the awesome waterfalls in Montezuma for the day, then some beach, and then attempt to watch the super bowl in the one bar that is showing it in town.
The waterfalls were absolutely sweet. There are two, a lower one and an upper one. The lower one is cool because its got a great big pool for swimming and climb behind the waterfall and then jump through it into the water. Chelsea took an awesome picture of Brett and I crashing through the wall of the water fall, its on Brett's camera, I will have to get a hold of it. I forgot about some change in my back pocket and it fell out when goofing around, so Brett and I went snorkeling (he brought his snorkeling stuff) for some fallen treasure. Brett actually found an old school Casio G-shock watch. Pretty sweet find since he didn't have a watch.
The upper waterfall allows for cliff jumping. Brett went straight for the top one, its probably a good 40 foot drop if not more. I got a sweet picture sequence of him running and jumping off. He said he forgot to squeeze his butt cheeks before hitting the water and got some slap action on his ass, looked like he was in a bit of a pain. I took the 35 foot drop which had much more air time than expected. Due to the extra air time I almost miscalculated, but the jump went off without a hitch. A bit later Chelsea and I did the 35 foot dropper together, Brett got the sequence on my camera.
Post waterfall jumping and swimming we hit the beach for a bit. Chelsea took in the sun and Brett and I cruised the waves. I must say, I think Montezuma is my new favorite town in Costa Rica. The town is the tiny little street on the pacific coast, not too touristy (definitely based around tourism though), its super chill, and it has great food. I really like it hear.
We blew off most of the super bowl. No American commercials. None of us were too excited about the game. I was hooting for the Bears..... they lost.
I definitely can recommend the empty beach under a semi-full moon if you have an awesome girl with you. Good thing I have a super awesome girl with me.
