Classes have been going well. The first week is almost up, I can't believe it. Earlier in the week I hung out lots with Rike, Sara and Dani. Sara and Dani were Rike's best friends from last semester. Dani is taking off tomorrow (she has to go back to the US for medical school interviews), but Sara is sticking around for another semester.
As the week progressed I started hanging out with some other people. I've been hanging out with Brett (goes to school in Georgia, is a river rafting guide in the summer), Craig (from Scotland, played semi pro soccer, and now goes to school in Tennessee, also here for only a month), Chelsea (awesome girl from CO and PA, outdoorsy, blonde dreads, really cool chick), Liz (really sweet girl from Kansas, lives with Craig, Chelsea, and Marina), and Marina (from Long Beach Long Island, she knows the surf break that we used to surf in high school and college on Lincoln st, and she has met Chris Kelly at Coconuts (the bar down here in Manuel Antonio that I was supposed to originally work at), small world huh?).
Went to dance class tonight to at least make an attempt to learn how to do some latin moves. I can dance to club music, techno, rap, and other generic stuff, but it turns out when it comes to latin music I still have two left feet (as I do with country music, but thats more on purpose). I improved after the first class and I could potentially morph my 2nd left foot into a right foot, only time will tell.
It's Thursday night and the place to be tonight is Castro's. I had been there before soon after I arrived and it wasn't really my kind of scene. Craig, Chelsea, Kate (cool girl from my class), Dana (Kate's roommate, nice girl), a bunch of others, and myself headed over to a hookah bar called Sultans. Really chill place with pretty cheap drinks. I didn't smoke any hookah, but Craig, Chelsea and I did a shot of Costa Rica's liquor, Guaro (I have no clue how its spelled). Fairly tasteless with a crappy throat burning sensation.
