When I got up today, I could smell the delicious turkey in the oven.  Silvia had gotten up at 6am to start cooking.  Most people here eat a huge late lunch on the 25th and thats the big meal that everyone gets together for.  We were supposed to be over at Carmen's at one to put the finishing touches on the food.
Carmen and her husband Ian (she is Tica, he is from Scotland) have lived all over the world with their three children, Catherine, Andrew and Alan.  After retiring 5 year ago, Carmen and Ian have settled back in Costa Rica and built a house.  Its actually not a house but an amazingly huge and beautiful mansion on a mountain side covered in jungle (behind their house is a protected nature preserve).  Its such an amazing house that it appeared in one of those 'Home' magazines (Silvia showed it to me at her house).  It has a sick view of San Jose and the valley that its in.
The party was a huge and tons of fun.  Lots of family that was super friendly (some other randoms), lots of great food, drinks, and lots of the holiday laughter and chatting.  I had a really good time hanging out with Silvia's family, they are extremely friendly and fun.  Everyone here in Latin America has been so inviting and super friendly.
