It was beautiful when I arrived, no rain
! My trip to Koh Phan Gang was fun , Big Buddah Beach was nice. But Phi Phi is what I was looking for. I think I will be here a few days! The setting is beautiful. This area of Thailand is rich in limestone and there are very dramatic mountains and cliffs. Many of the mountains look like huge ant hills with trees growing on them. The view from the beach is awesome. Evidently the aquatic life here is something as there are Dive Shops everywhere. I plan on taking a snorkeling trip on Tuesday.
Phi Phi was severly hit by the tsunami. They have done a good job of rebuilding. There are no roads here, only sidewalks and pathways. Tonight I ventured inland a little, there was a little evidence that something had happened but not severe.
Sorry no pics yet....tomorrow i promise!

Had to go to the hospital again
! Ive been feeling bad since Saturday. Today I woke up feeling really bad. The only Dr. on the island is at the hospital. So off i go. Headaches, coughing, sneezing, etc. Turns out I had as fever as well. Got 4 different meds and office visit for 600 bhat about $15.00. Went back to the bungalow and took a nice long nap, am feeling better tonight.
I booked a flight for Saturday from Phuket to Chaing Mai. I failed to plan ahead and get industry tickets for cheap. Thanks goodness there are low cost carriers here and the price was pretty reasonable. $155 one way bought yesterday. I am thinking I will stay in paradise(phi phi) until Friday, then ferry over to Phuket, overnight they fly out Saturday afternoon. If i feel Ok tomorrow I plan to take a cooking class at a local restaurant. It is much cheaper here than in BKK. I will get to learn 4 different dishes! I am looking forward to that. Hopefully Thursday I will get to snorkle.
Enjoy the pics! I uploaded quite a few.......
I decided to make the journey to Phi Phi(pronounced P P) after all. I'm here so why let a little rain stop me. After 12 hours from pick up to drop off I made it to Koh Phi Phi. The transportation system here is something. You buy a "joint ticket", that gets you a pick up at your hotel by van, today we boarded a bus that drove onto a ferry for a 2.5 hour ride. Once on the mainland we drove about an hour, then everybody had to get off and wait for their respective buses. You have to "reconfirm" your ticket at each stop. When I went to the reconfirm desk, I walked up and said Phi Phi, the guy said the toilets over there. We all had a good laugh over that one. Anyway after about an hour later our P P bus departed for about a 2.5 hour ride. The drive across the mainland was pretty. Surprisingly undeveloped. Quite a few palm groves. Then we boarded another ferry for the final leg.
