I spent the night at the park. Ironically it was the most and expensive and worst room thus far. There were private accommodations nearby but no bus service. All in all, it was worth it. Unfortunately the weather monday morning was very overcast. I had hoped for another sunny day. After a few hours of hiking i caught the bus to Zadar. It is great to be on the coast, i am staying at the hostel in Borik, the resort area of Zadar. This morning i had a wonderful 4.5 hours conversation with a fascinating woman from Australia. This is what travel is all about seeing new, different, and interesting things and meeting some unique people!
Here are some pics from one of the most amazing places i have ever seen! This area was about 2,5 hours south of Zagreb. It is a national park, As you walk through the park you rarely see a man made structure, except the board walks. You can see by the pics the surrounding area is very densely forested. When i arrived Sunday morning the weather was beautiful. The water glistened when the sunlight hit it. If you look closely at the photos you will see these waterfalls are flowing through and around vegetation as opposed to rocks. The lakes have a heavy concentration of minerals. The guide book says the falls are ever changing as a result of their mineral makeup. I did see a few former stream beds. There are miles and miles of trails, the follow and circle around all 16 of the lakes that make up Plitsvice. In addition to the beautiful water views there was quite a variety of plants in full bloom.
