Hey there!

I'm having a great time here in the Czech Republic. Prague is awesome. Everywhere you look there is incredible architecture. Prague is a large city, very dense. There is some green space in the occasional park, but otherwise its building after building. Prague orginated in the 10th century and has architecture from the Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque periods. I hope to have some pics for you soon, ive got to find a place to download them to a disk.
After the first night i changed my accommodations. I found an apartment a short tram/metro ride from the center of town. It worked out nicely. Except for the time i got lost at like 11pm, It took me over an hour to get home. I may have to get a new pair of shoes, because i think i'm going to wear these out walking. The blisters are healing but the muscles are a bit sore!
This morning i arrived here in Cesky Krumlov, Southern Bohemia, near the Austrian border. It is an old medieval village, relatively unchanged since the 18th century. Very charming and quaint. The Valta river wraps around it. There is a huge castle and gardens. I am going to tour the castle tomorrow hoping the weather will be better.
A few random obervations:
-Czechs like their dogs! Pure breds far outnumber the mutts.
-The modified mohawk is alive and well in Prague, maybe i should get one!
-Foreigners sure do like to travel in tour groups.
-The beer is good!
-Mass transit is the way to go here, everyone uses it, easier than driving and parking.
-You dont hand your money to the clerk, you place it on a tray.
-Not sure what Thank You is in Czech, but im pretty sure i have'nt heard it.
-Spring rolls in Prague are not the same as in Charlotte, more like Dim Sum, steamed.

Thats it for now.

I hate you. Well, maybe not hate, but....
Here I am changing diaper after diaper, eating chicken nuggets, and watching the Wiggles and the Doodlebops and you are off having the trip of a lifetime. I envy you. I just hope I live long enough to do what you are doing now. Keep the updates comming as I must live vicariously thru others, unless it involves minivans, lawnmowers or bubble machines. HAVE A BLAST!

This is so much fun. And you have so many interesting facts to share. It makes the trip more real. Have you decided about the Mohawk yet? You know Sandy would say Go for it! And she would love the architecture too. She always had a photographer's eye for that. Enjoy every moment, Chuck.
