Dear all,
This was a hard and sad week. Milo, one of our two cats, passed away. During our Slovenia trip in October Milo had lost weight, which we attributed to his not liking a new food we had bought. After switching foods he seemed to be gaining weight and getting better, but last week started losing weight again and became very lethargic. On Tuesday he was diagnosed with cancer which had spread to his bone marrow. Sadly, he died on Wednesday.
Anybody who knew MIlo knew that he was a dog in a cat's body. As a couple who lived several floors above us in our apartment building in Chicago said, "I would go so far to say he had the biggest personality of any cat either of us have ever encountered. We remember the first time he came into our apartment, he just walked in all casual and laid out in the middle of the carpet like he owned the place, which he clearly did. Our apartment was merely an extension of his kingdom".
Milo added personality to our home and was always part of the welcoming party when guests arrived. He followed Chris around all day long and the two of them were constant companions while Melanie was away at work. He will be sorely missed.
In memory, we've posted a collection of Milo photos (any others out there are welcome). Many thanks to our friends who have sent their memories of Milo as well.
Venus, Milo's sister, is getting along well
All the best,
Melanie and Chris
