The Gay Pride parade in Amsterdam takes place on the Prinzengracht (canal) each year in August. For the past 2 years we've taken our boat out with our landlord, Rob, and his friends to watch the parade. It's an absolute blast. Great costumes and music and a really upbeat spirit.

This year the parade started with a very somber float. Just one week earlier two teenage men had been hung in Iran because they were homosexual. The float represented a coffin - completely covered in white satin with a large arrangement of flowers on top. A black and white photo of the hanging stood on top of the coffin.
