This entry is purely for the purpose of showing you what my living conditions are for the time being.  Right now I live in a large rented house with Claude Nikondeha (the head of Amahoro Africa), his wife Kelley, and their two adopted children, Justin and Emma.  They have lived in Surprise, AZ for the past several years but are contemplating a move to Burundi in the next year or so.  Three other Americans also live here - Sarah and Ron Gonski, and Grace Scale - and we have anywhere from three to six Burundians in and around the house at any given moment who help out with cooking, cleaning, driving, taking care of the children, etc.  We'll be here until September, when everyone will head back to the U.S., and I will move in with a local Burundian family.
It's a very large house, as you can see and has electricity, running water for part of the day, and even wireless internet.  (Yay!!!)  There is a gated wall around the house for security, but the neighborhood is safe enough that I can go out walking alone during the day and not have to worry about any problems.  My favorite part of the house is the top story which is a big open area where we go to hang out or work, since a breeze comes through at all times.  From the top we can see Lake Tanganyika to the west and the mountains to the east.  It's really lovely.

Looking Good
Thanks, Christy, for including me on your mailing list. Your pics of your home look really great. Let's see a better one of you and your short hair without the bandanna on!
We enjoyed having your mom and dad with us in Logan for the 4th of July weekend. You are so fortunate to have such great parents!
