Didn't do a lot today, loitered around the pool at the hostel for a while, visited the pretty awful beach near a big backpackers called Smugglers Cove. The beach here is gray and uninviting with a rather dark murky coloured ocean, you certainly wouldn't come here for the beaches but Nadi is primarily just a transport hub for people arriving and departing Fiji. Nadi is on the west coast of the biggest Fijian island, Viti Levu. The capital of this tropical archipelago is Suva on the opposite side of the island which is referred to as the mainland but in reality the "Mainland" is an island only just over 100km long.

This afternoon I booked an 8 day island hopping tour to the Mamanucas and Yasawas island groups. The tour is rather pricey and I normally hate these things but I have no plan for Fiji and I don't want to have to think about organising accommodation and how I'm going to get to places. So I've taken the easy option and let someone else do the work for me. Remember, this my holiday at the end of 2008's rather hectic adventure :o)

Spend the evening with the other guests from the hostel, had a few local beers and went out for some dinner. A pretty late night and I have early start in the morning to begin my trip. Will need an afternoon nap tomorrow at some point, maybe I'll find a hammock somewhere.
