Drove through many small quaint towns along the Murray river today as I continued to follow one of Australia's most valuable natural resources. Also drove through many vine yards too and saw some wine producers I recognise from the wine shops back at home. Along the Murray it appears they make wine on an industrial scale. Saw some massive vats used in the fermentation process, as high as four or five story buildings. Haven't seen this scale of production in any other wine producing regions I've passed through in Australia.
Arrived in Adelaide mid-afternoon after a half an hour of driving around in circles to find an expensive parking spot. Had a walk around the shopping district and found a free WIFI signal which I took full advantage of to get a few admin jobs done. I didn't really explore Adelaide in any depth, maybe I should of done but it didn't really float my boat on first impressions. Looks like a typical modern city with not much character, but to be honest I didn't really give it a chance.
Parked up near the town of Murray Bridge for a sleep this evening. I'll now follow the southern coast until I reach the famous Great Ocean Road which is suppose to be one of the best coastal drives in the world, can't wait!
