Managed to keep hold of my beloved Corolla! Hertz are allowing me to drop my current car off in Sydney now, so I've extended the hire for another 3 weeks and cancelled the other car I'd booked. Arranged the change at the Hertz office this morning in central Brisbane. Leaving Brisbane this morning was a nightmare, the roads were bumper to bumper with traffic, glad to be getting out of the bright lights of a city for while. Back to mother-nature for me to explore more beautiful Australian landscapes.
After finally leaving Brisbane and picking up some food supplies and fuel, I drove along the windy roads of the Great dividing range over the state border into New South Wales. Been on this route before in the other direction. I really great scenic route with tight hairpins and steep hills. Passed through Grafton on the way to Ebor where I've parked up tonight at 1350 metres above sea level. Could be in for a cold night. Close to freezing I suspect. Tomorrow I'm heading in the general direction of the Blue Mountains just to the west of Sydney. I'll see how far I get tomorrow.
