Today has been pretty uneventful, no amazing sights to report on. It was a long drive to Alice Springs this morning which took from sunrise to the early afternoon to complete. Beginning to get a little pissed off now with all the driving, been having some back trouble from all the sitting on my arse I've been doing. Haven't really been too active over the last couple of days. Still have at least 4000km of driving before I reach Brisbane. Hopefully things will improve over the next couple of days, just need to do some walking tomorrow to loosen up my stiff body.
Once in Alice, had a look around town in the hot afternoon sun and generally chilled out before continuing south. Driving towards the Henbury meteorite impact site which i'll visit tomorrow morning. I'm a bit of a space rock geek, so I have to see these famous craters as I'm passing so close. I know, I'm sad man!!
Tomorrow I'll finally arrive at Uhuru (Ayres rock). This sandstone monolith is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world and is the primary reason why I've driven so far into the deserted heart of the continent. I'm sure the long drive will be worth it, i'll find out soon enough.
