After breakfast we headed back to Ha Long City on the mainland from Cat Ba Island. The boat slowly meandered around the beautiful limestone outcrops for for several hours before reaching Ha Long City where we eat a great lunch. After lunch we returned to Hanoi by mini-bus. Horrible bus journey, A/C wasn't working properly, over 35 degrees outside. The bus was like a moving greenhouse, never sweated some much in my life. I was drenched by the time we arrived in Hanoi.

Sadly I saw my first dead person today, never seen a dead body in my entire life. A guy had been hit by a lorry while riding his scooter. His body was lay face down in the middle of a 3 lane highway. Police were at the scene taking measurements as the traffic weaved around the poor guys body. Back in Europe the road would have been closed for hours. Feels like life is cheap on the roads of Vietnam. Only the lower half of his body was covered, so his face was clearly visible. An extremely harrowing sight.

Staying at the Sunrise hotel in the Old Quarter tonight, will only be staying here for one night as I fly to Hong Kong tomorrow evening.
