Day 5 - 27/02/08

I've now arrived in Goa, which is a complete contrast to Mumbai in so many ways. I flew to Goa which only took 1 hour rather than taking a sweaty 12 hour train journey. When I landed, I managed to share a taxi with a Russian couple, which saved me a bit of cash.

I'm staying in a roof top hut in Arambol at a guest house called Piya's which is run by a really nice family, very basic but it's only £3 per night. Arambol appears to hippie central, not quite sure if I fit in here with my western attire and big rucksack. An Italian girl in Mumbai recommended I come to this small village in the far north of Goa. It's off the beaten track and is a lot less commercialised than other areas of the district, so lets see what its like.

Spent the evening chatting and having a few beers with another Italian girl, I've meet two Italian girls in two days and they were both from Bologna, crazy Fishing

. Went to bed quite late but from my hut you can lay in bed and peer out at the stars though the wicker walls, very relaxing. Tomorrow I'm going to check out the beach, go for a swim, and get my bearings.

Day 6 - 28/02/08

Today was a very chilled day, nothing of any interest to report really. Checked out the beach in the morning, it's beautiful with very few people around due to the peak session finishing around a month ago.  Russians everywhere though, spoke to the locals and they dislike them due to their drunken behaviour and bad attitude, makes a change that these comments aren't being made about the British.

Went to my hut for a while in the afternoon to sort a few things out and then back to the beach for a swim. In the evening I walked around the village for a while and after 5 days of Indian food I went for a Pizza!

Day 7 - 29/02/08

I think lazy days are the norm here and I had another one Arambol Beach 1
Arambol Beach 1
. Went for a walk on the beach, took my washing to be cleaned, surfed the internet for a while, had a few beers, back to the beach for sun set, I think everyone has similar days here in Arambol. The plan is to leave the day after tomorrow before I get use to this lazy hippie lifestyle, will head down to Gokarn and Jogg falls I think.

Day 8 - 01/03/08

Last day in Arambol today, decided to go to Anjuna tomorrow which is around 20km south. Anjuna is one of the party capitals of Goa, so it will be intresting to see a more hedonistic side of the district.

Spent the day walking on the beach and round the village, generally chilling out and not doing a lot. I suppose I better make the most of these relaxing times as when I get to Nepal in 3 weeks, this is where the hard work begins.
