Couldn't get to sleep until 3am, so stayed in bed till quite late this morning. Left the hotel to get something to eat and I was approached by a casting director who wanted me to be in a Bollywood movie tomorrow, he said I'd get paid and looked after but unfortunately I have a flight to Goa booked in the afternoon. I said no, but maybe I should have rearranged my plans, could have been fun and the start of a Bollywood career.

Elephanta Island was a one hour journey from the gateway of India by boat. The temples are absolutely exquisite and carved straight into the rock like Petra in Jordan. The biggest temple measures 5000 square meters. It must have taken hundreds of people decades to carve this intricate structure. Inside there are lots carved Hindu icons. Some are damaged due to the Portuguese using them as target practice a couple of hundred years ago when they invaded, but most are still intact and in good condition considering there're 1400 years old.

In the evening had a bite to eat, not surprisingly another Indian, and then a couple of beers with a German student I meet in a bar. Tomorrow is my flight to Goa. Still haven't really worked out where in Goa I'm going to stay, think I'm going to head north away from the package tourists. I've been looking at Anjuna, Vagator, Chapora or Arambol, all around 65km from the Airport, could be an expensive taxi ride.

Casting Director?
Haha... that was the funniest line I've heard in a while!

Love your blog, BTW.
I was googling travel sites to see what kind of iteneraries would appeal to my non-Indian girlfriend. It's hilarious reading some of the stuff people go through just because they have lighter skin!
