The bus to Nairobi was surprising, meet two ozzies on the bus; one was born and lived in Macclesfield while she was a child. Then I was speaking with a Kenyan Muslim whose daughter lives in Alderley edge. Both towns around 4 miles from my house. It is a small world after all, spooky! The border crossing from Tanzania to Kenya was less dramatic than before, no hassle at all, another two stamps in my passport and I was gone.

The bus journey is long (8 hours in fact with all the stops) but the other option is to fly which costs $250 rather than the $25 for the bus, plus as you've seen you meet some interesting people on long bus journeys. Our driver was a mad man over taking anything and everything, In traffic he was under taking in the dusty ditches by the side of the road, but to be fair he obviously knew what he was doing and I arrived at Nairobi airport in one piece and on time.

The roads are so bumpy in Africa , not really surprised there are broken trucks and cars scattered by the roadside with ingenious mechanics trying to fix them with next to no tools.

I arrived at the airport 5 hours before my departure but I had a couple of beers with a girl from Leeds who was on the bus and who was also on my flight back to the tropical UK . She managed to get us both upgraded due to a friend she has at BA, amazing! Its past midnight , going to have something to eat and try get some sleep, catching a train from London to Macclesfield in the morning. It really has been and is going to be planes, trains and automobiles for 24 hours.
