The place runs like a well oiled machine, ferrying visitors to numerous attractions it has to offer. We jumped on a bus and were taken out to a viewing gantry where people watch the launch of all the shuttles, here you can see the 2 launch pads NASA use for all their manned missions aswell as seeing the launch pads for satellites and various unmanned missions, when we were there as you can see by some of the pictures there was a shuttle already prepped for take off, apparently the shuttles are moved into position 30 days before launch and it takes them 8hours to get it to the launch site as it moves at such a slow pace
We saw some cool cinema like shows of the history of NASA and various missions, we were taken into the actual mission control for the first Apollo flights, just used as a tourist attraction now but nevertheless it was once a fully functional mission control, from here we were led out to the next room where there was the backup Apollo rocket that would have been used if anything ever happened to the first, and all I can say is "wow" this mother is some size, the scale of the pictures don't do this thing justice, it's monstrous. In comparison its twice the size of the current space shuttles NASA use for manned space exploration.
From here we went to see a 3D movie on the current space station that numerous countries are participating in building, this was completely awesome, my first 3D movie experience and have to say it was so cool, there was one instant when one of the guys threw an orange and it felt all I had to do was open my mouth and let it fly in, great fun and very interesting and would have to say to anyone visiting Orlando to definitely go and pay the Kennedy Space Station a visit well worth it and some awesome sights.
