This morning we depart Jasper for Banff, the Elk had been through the town that night and had helped themselves to the flowers in the gardens at the Hotel. We were told that the Elk like to come into the town as it's relatively safe from bears who shun the town. So they say!
We stopped at the Columbia Icefields and had a group photo taken before boarding an Ice Explorer (bus) to the Athabasca Glacier where we nearly froze to death but it was worth it. Afterwards we stopped for a look at Bow Lake - beautiful again then onwards to Banff. On the way we spotted a mother Grizzly bear and her cub walking along the hillside near the bus, unfortuately by the time we backed the bus up she was disappearing into the bushes so no one had a opportunity to take any photos.
