We had a very early pick up at 4.15am and arrived at Brisbane Airport at about 5am.  Our flight departed about 9.05am after waiting for some latecomers obviously not us.  Had a pleasant flight arriving at about 5pm in Tokyo although we had seats near the exits which meant plenty of leg room, the seats were a pretty snug fit.
After fighting our way through immigration and customs which also meant getting our photo taken and finger printed, we headed for JR Rail and exchanged our Rail voucher for the Rail Pass.  We booked all our seats on the trains that we will be using, having to change one time so we could get a no smoking carriage.
We took the Airport Limousine Bus to the Hotel which was a 1 and a half hour trip finally getting to the Hotel at 8.30pm.  After checking in we walked down the road and grabbed McDonald's for a quick dinner then went back to the Hotel for bed - we were buggered.
