Where I stayed
We had a 2 hour drive ahead of us to Blarney Castle and we were hoping the rain would stop- and that it did! The weather was clear by the time we got to Blarney Castle. There was a cute little town right outside the castle. We first went to the castle to "kiss the blarney stone". The castle wasn't really big, but it had some crazy, narrow, twisted stairs to the top. There was a little bit of a line, but it went quick. I did kiss the stone, but mom didn't because she didn't want to get on her back to have to do it
Our next stop was the beautiful St Finbarre's Church in Cork. I wanted mom to see some of the amazing European churches and this was great example. At first, we thought it was closed because the doors didn't seem to be open. There was a little cemetery outside the church we looked at and then saw some other tourists enter, so we followed. It was very ornate inside and definitely worth a look.
Our next stop was the town of Kinsale, where we would be staying overnight. This town was situated right beside the harbor which our hotel room overlooked. We spent the evening strolling around the streets of the town and then grabbing a quick dinner.
