Show trip route
The day started with-- you guessed it-- German class. Then, afterward, I met with a friend of my grandparents who lives in Salzburg, Ms. Inge Zwatz. What a lovely, lovely lady. We met in the main performance square of the city before walking to a restaurant serving authentic Austrian food. While there, we chatted and I was so pleased to get to know her. My grandparents certainly know how to pick their friends. :)
After lunch, I went back to SC to rehearse my piece for today with Dr. Germain and study a little before we all clumped into a group and walked over to the performance venue. Today: vocal midterms!
Each person sang a German art song, and the concert went very well. I liked hearing all of my friends perform, and I didn't make a train wreck during my piece, so that's always good. (I performed Wolf's Er ist's.)
When that was over, Fanny and I had dinner together at a cafe right near the performance venues where famous people have been rumored to eat, but we didn't notice Cecilia Bartoli or Anna Netrebko. Next time. We had a fab conversation though and swapped stories over dessert before heading to my last ticketed performance: El Sistema, a high school orchestra from abroad. They were utterly impeccable and received a standing ovation the minute the concert was over. I'm glad I didn't miss it, but I certainly have a lot of work to do for tomorrow's language test. Off I go to study!
PS-- For some reason, my pictures won't flip the correct way. I'll have to edit them later.
