Wed 18th June.

We were picked up at 7.15 am and taken to our beautiful barbi pink 4X4, where we met the other 7 people of our tour group. We cramed into the truck with our bags and 9 of us headed off the Woolworths (the Aus equivalent of Tesco) to buy all our supplies for our trip i.e. food, goon and a few other essentials. All ready to go we boarded the ferry for the 45 min journmey over to the island. Our 1st stop was at the bakery which, we'd been informed, sold really yummy pies for lunch. We then continued our drive, pulling up on the beach and trecked 30 mins through the forest to  Lake Wobby  Of the 9 of us, only Sam and Martin were brave enough to swim in the green, catfish-filled lake in the rain, lol.
We then drove down the beach and found a suitable camping spot for the night and set up our cozy little camp of 4 tents and attached a canopy to the truck, under which we spent the night around the stove cooking steak, baked potatos and salad for dinner, all washed down with a generous helping of goon inside our barbi truck

Thurs 19th
After a camp cuppa and breakfast we loaded the truck and headed further down the beach to the ship wreck, then continued to the northest point to which we could drive where we climed the cliff's and sat whale watching for a while before heading down to the champaign pools - a rocky pool where h5te sea water bubbles over like champaign. This is where Sam managed to get attacked by a local octapus, thankfully not a blue ringed one. Due to high tide, we then had to leave and head back down the beach and find our next camp spot for the night. Setting up and huddleing round our stove we cooked a supprisingly extremely tasky spag bol and comsumed some more goon and vodka.

Fri 20th
Today's our last day on Fraser Island. We got to Lake McKensy asap after hearing how beautiful the crystal (tho cold!) water, soft sand :-) We relaxed for a while before having to leave to catch the ferry back to the mainland.

Stinking dirty, Sam + I took the group to the Irish Bar back at Hervy Bay before we left to catch the Greyhound bus overnight north to Airley Beach, arriving Sat 9.05am.
