Thursday 29th May
SAM: We got up early, packed all our stuff and got down to the highlands main bus depot for 07:45 ready to leave the Cameron Highlands, and the cold, behind us. We spent 5 hours on a luxury air conditioned bus down to K.L, costing only 4 pound each :).
On arrival in K.L we had been reccomended to stay at Maratians guest house but found this to be full. So we ended up staying in the Wheelers guest house on the outskirts of china town. After settling into our accomodation we went out to explore the local area and finishedup in Nando's. Whilst in Nando's the heavens opened and it downpoured for 2-3 hours so we retreated into an internet cafe to update facebook.
Friday 30th May
SAM: Today we decided to do our touristy bit of K.L and booked a free trip up to the sky bridge (the bridge between the Petronus towers)
Saturday 31st May
SAM: Today we did the other tourist attraction in K.L, which is the K.L tower. Some great views from the top but not too sure about the bungy jump option. On the way down we got hearded away by some local students. Christina was suspicious but I knew they wanted to question me on how to look fashionable on a low budget. Turns out they just wanted a photo of a British couple, either that or our identities are being copied as we speak.
In the afternoon I went to Petronus Cinema to watch Indiana Jones while Christina went off apparently 'window' shopping, although I didn't think you needed bags for that sort of shopping :)
Sunday 1st June
SAM: Can't believe its June already. We started the day off with a stroll down to the main bus depot in K.L to book our bus tickets to Johar Buru, which leaves tomorrow morning. We then had a lazy morning reading up on NZ.
In the afternoon we again decided to get ourselves into an internet cafe and update the Blog.
Hope alls well back home. Love to everyone xxx

Can't believe all the fantastic places you've been able to visit, I'm so jealous. It all looks fantastic. I think you will enjoy NZ and you may even decide to go back there to live. Dave said they're advertising for teachers (do you think he wants to get rid of me?). Would love to spend some time In NZ and Australia, the life style sound so laid back. Maybe one day. Enjoy yourselves. Lots of love Mum xxxxxxxxxxx
PS Granny and Grandad send their love. It was fantastic to speak to you last week and they love hearing all about your travels. Granny keeps battling on and Grandad is doing a fantastic job. He has the patients of a saint. xxxxxxx
Cream teas mystery
Ah! The comment from granny that 'they make cream out there', all falls into place. After all, you have to make cream to be able to have a cream tea!Have been over to theirs this morning and gran is a bit sleepy, but still coping quite well. Grandad is briiliant and puts up with all the snide comments from gran about him being bossy! She does come out with some beauties at the moment. Good job we can laugh at it.It was lovely for them to have mum and Jack staying - probably quite dull for poor Jack, but he was very good. We've now cleared their dining room and there's an electric, adjustable bed being delivered tomorrow (care of our great NHS) that we'll put in there, along with a single for grandad. That way, when even the stairlift becomes too much, gran will be able to be in amongst everything - as well as peer out the window at all the neighbours!
Thanks for keeping such a fantastic blog and downloading all the photos - it really looks amazing. I so wish I'd done something similar when I was young and fit like you! (actually, I don't think I've ever been fit! Although I was told I looked 'hot' the other night - so that was pretty great. I turned down the potential date tho' as the guy has a tummy bigger than my friend's - and she is 9 months pregnant!!) Lots of love to you both and hope the trip continues to be as fantastic. Fiona.xxxx
Re: Cream teas mystery
Hi Fiona,
thanks for keeping me up to date with grans situation. As for the 'hot' comment, you don't look bad for you're age :-) Hope Becky and Matt are getting on well at uni. When does Becky finish? lots of love Sam xxx
hot old bid!
Yeah, thanks for that Sam - I think - not bad for my age huh?!! Becky has finished uni - it was her leaver's ball last sat and she's home tomorrow. (weds 4th)Now got gran and grandad set up in dining room for sleeping. Gran has an electric bed - on loan from the brill NHS - and grandad a single we bought from the West Briton. All fits well and gran is facing the window, so can make suitable comments about those passing by! Adam's home this weekend, so could provide some amusement. Hope all's still going well. I'm off to physio at Treliske tomorrow, for my first session for the tennis elbow - will let you know if I hear of any jobs!
Love Fiona. x
