We arrived at Bangkok airport 8pm local time, 1 hour behind Hong Kong time. It was monsoon rain and lightening on arrival and the taxi driver explained it does this for 1 hour each night during this time of year, which helps clear the air. We eventually found our hostel tucked away in the backstreet, off the main Rama IV highway.
For our first day we decided to visit a temple but bumped into a local on the way who kindly took us on a river ride, which ended up in the old part of Bangkok. An interesting experience, which we both learnt from :). Our second day in Bangkok was spent at Siam Square, a local shopping mall, where we bought a few bits and pieces but were also shocked at how similar some of the prices are in Bangkok compared with back home.
We are both really enjoying our Bangkok experience and are gradually getting used to the heat and humidity of the city. Love to everyone back home xXx xXx More thumbnails ...

So glad you arrived safely(despite the storm) and are having a good time. Watch out for those 'friendly locals' tho'!! We've actually had sunshine here yesterday and today - is summer coming? No, apparently it's back to wind and rain tomorrow. Off to watch Truro Colts play rugby at Hayle this afternoon - should be fun. Take care and look after each other. Lotsa luv, Fiona.xxxx
