Spent a few nights in cappadocia with our friends from the cruise, paul and anso (anne sophie). Super cool here!! Tons of ancient old rock caves that were homes that christians lived in back in like 300 - 1200 AD. Tons of people also do hot air balloon rides (like tracy & dave) but at 150 euro per person it was waaaaaaaaaaay out of our budget. you can see tons of hot air balloons every morning though. they looked sooo cool.
we did a few hikes, the caves were awesome. throughout the whole town there are cave hotels that you can stay in, cave buildings, and caves you can explore in. we went into an open air museum that showed churches that were carved into caves, complete with elaborate drawings and decorations and stuff. one day we rented a scooter to explore further out, chris drove and i hopped on the back and after some severe crotch pains i told him to drop me off and carry on by himself. but it was fun and the views were awesome. paul and anso are staying in turkey for another week or two and we are moving on to syria so we will be splitting up.
also found an english book store HOORAY and picked up a couple books. and found some super cheap and yummy meals too. and bought a headscarf to prepare for syria in case of head covering emergency.
