So today I drove into town from Areguas (the small, beautiful town on the outsides of Asuncion where I'm staying with my super gracious CS hosts) into Asuncion with Sandra, Joaquim's wife (my CS hosts). We went to their shop for a bit, as I waited for Adri, the CS ambassador for Asuncion, which had nicely agreed to take me around on a tour of the city... CS never ceases to amaze me!
Anyways, true to her word, Adri showed up and we took a bus into downtown Asuncion. From there she took me around seeing all these beautiful buildings and architecture, as well as museums, the cathedral, plaza de armas, palacio de gobierno, the river, etc. We had a great time walking around and had some nice lunch nearby to relax out of the pretty warm weather. Beautiful day, but nice and hot (and it's winter now...)
Afterwards I accompanied her to her English class, where she teaches most of the day to be a guest speaker and semi-teacher for a bit, which was fun. Then I walked down the street back to Sandra's shop, hung out a bit, and we headed back home. Joaquim and Sandra are extremely nice, and I feel extremely fortunate to have met them and them letting me stay with them.
I think the next couple of days we might go visiting some nearby towns and maybe a waterfall on Sunday. Then I'll head to Ciudad del Este, Iguazu, and I might be able to head out to Brasil too! yayy
