Today I arrived at Resistencia, in the Northeast of Argentina, around 5.30am. I checked bus tickets, got one for tomorrow morning to Asuncion (for 32 Pesos, around 10 USD) . After buying my bus ticket, I took a bus for about 1.20 pesos and had a (very expensive - around 4 pesos) small juice at a cafe while I waited for the sun to come out a bit more.
Afterwards I walked around a bit, checked out the mediocre Cathedral, and saw some of the several statues around town. Resistencia is known as a bit of an open air museum, with hundreds of statues around town. I saw just a few of the ones near the (huge) plaza de armas, and then checked out the Fine Arts museum. It was free, but wasn't that impressive, with just a few paintings and what not.
Afterwards I went to the Museum of the Chaceno man (man from Chaco) which had a really cool exhibit on the history of the region, with a really helpful lady who later turned out to be the wife of the (now deceased) museum founder. It was really insightful to learn about the history and some of the wars that have occurred in the area.
Afterwards it was about time to meet up with Javier, my couchsurfing host. We met up and walked to his apartment, and have hung out most of the afternoon. Well, after having lunch I had a nap, where I slept way too long, and then we went for a walk checking out a park with a lot of the sculptures as well as a famous sculpture in honor of the street dogs.
Anywho, that's about all I have energy for for now... tilll' next time...
