So I slept really well last night.. I´d say I slept about 10 hours or so... from around 9pm to 7am or so. It was sooo nice to rest after such a long (but amazing) day.
Anyways, I got up and walked around, got my train ticket for today at 2pm, had an excellent fruit juice for breakfast at the market, and then met up with Jessica at the plaza de armas around 10am. We then headed out to the Mandor waterfall, which is about an hour and a half walk out of town along the railroad tracks past Machu Picchu. It was a really nice walk, and we thought it was fun since it reminded us of the movie "Stand by Me".
Anywho, we finally reached the trail off the tracks towards the waterfalls (5 soles Peruvian, 10 soles foreign). It was quite nice, full of butterflies and pretty flowers and scenery along the way. We got to the waterfalls and attempted to go swimming in it, but the water was freeezing. I finally went all the way into the water, or rather I sort of tripped and fell into it, half froze to death, screamed like a little girl, and went right back out.
So we both hung out on the rocks as I was half eaten alive by the very friendly and very hungry mosquitos, having some sun as it peaked out of the nice white clouds for about an hour or so, and then headed back along the trail and the tracks to town. I picked up my stuff fromthe hostel, and said goodbye to Jessica, since she was leaving on a later train today. We should meet up in a couple of hours when she comes to the hostel.
So I swear I´ll post some of the pics either later tonight or tomorrow morning, f´sho. Pictures soon.
PICTURES!
