So today I woke up at 6am, well rested. It seems I´ve just become accustomed to getting up earlier lately... I can´t believe it´s only 10.30am and I´ve already gone to the market to get my super kickass juice and some bread, and then visited three museums. I also visited the (amaaazing aamaaazzing) cathedral with it´s insane amount of incredibly beautiful Cusco School paintings. I stopped by a couple other churches as I walked around too, just admiring the amazing art around every corner.
So the museums I went to were the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art, the Regional History Museum, and the Museum of Popular Art. They were all quite nice, except the Contemporary Art museum, which was half closed because of some dentist expo and also because I wasn´t a huge fan of the stuff I saw. The others had some more amazing examples of Cusco art from the Colonial era as well as old artifacts and goodness.
I´ll probably take it easy for most of the day today, and try to check out the other museum on the tourist ticket as well as a show that it includes at 7pm. I hope it´s good. That´s it for now...
9pm..
I had a nice afternoon. I visited the Qoricancha museum and walked around a bit more, and then met up with Carlos, a couchsurfer from Arequipa who lives in Cusco now. He was very friendly and it was great to hang out with him for a bit. He showed me around a bit as well as the high end hotels he helps manage. We had a great dinner as well, and then walked down the El Sol Ave. when we said goodbye.
Tomorrow early I´m taking off in the sacred valley tour, after which I´ll stay in Ollantaytambo and take the train from there to Aguas Calientes. I´m sure I´ve mentioned it many times, but yeah, there you go.. I also took some night shots and I´ve uploaded them to my facebook page, as usual...
