I just witnessed a city worker demonstration in the Lima district of Miraflores. They were chanting racism protests against the mayor and the president. Now I'm sitting nearby the protest, attempting to begin my journal for the trip I'll begin this weekend.
Empiezo con un bus hacia Arequipa, que hace anios que no he ido, desde que era chiquito. De ahi voy hacia Puno, Bolivia, Paraguay, etc. He estado viviendo con mi mama en Lima, despues de 10 anios que no he vivido aqui. Ha estado bonito e interesante, pero ya me estoy muriendo de ganas de viajar de nuevo.
I'll start by taking a bus to Arequipa, which I haven't visited in years, since I was a little boy. From there I'll go on to Puno (still in Peru), Bolivia, Paraguay, etc. I've been living with my mom in Lima, after 10 years of not living here. It's been nice and interesting, but I'm getting crazy cabin fever and I'm ready to travel again.
Estoy bastante emocionado y nervioso, como siempre estoy antes de empezar un viaje. Me imagino que de hecho va a estar excelente, y espero conocer muchos lugares nuevos bonitos, culturas nuevas, y amigos nuevos.
I'm quite excited and nervous, as I always am just before begining a new trip. I imagine it'll be great, and I hope to meet lots of beautiful new places, new cultures, and new friends.
