Where I stayed

I asked myself many times on this trip,
why it had gone completely „wrong way“- well maybe it didn't but
it just took another direction.
First of all I came to visit my Thai
girlfriend. Last year we had spent a very happy time travelling
together and since she had to work this time it was quite clear that it
wouldn't be like that.
That we broke up wasn't part of the
plan neither.
So that completely changed my plans.
Then it had been my first time in
Thailand that I didn't visit my dear old friends down south in Khao
Sok- sorry Praiwan and Bao, miss you guys a lots, hope to see you
next time then!
So it hadn't been like coming to home
away from home as usual, neither had it been a honeymoon mood
travelling or anything of that kind. More of a do it yourself
experience this time.
I found out that I can travel
completely by myself without the aid of anyone, which is pretty cool.
Next time I'll try with slightly less baggage though.
One of the things I enjoyed most on this trip- besides feasting on
delicious inexpensive food was definetely speaking Thai. It has improved
a lot in the past years, my ex-girlfriend had been a good teacher and I
was a good student too!!
Sitting on the plane now I hate to talk
in English with the flight attendants.

I also found out that my „market value“ isn't too bad:) Speaking Thai  is very charming and it's definetely more fun to hook up with the ladies.
I spoke Thai in situations I never imagined it would be possible already.
About politics and bed talk alike...as for sweet talk I'm a master already anway.
I even talked 20 mins on the phone to a complete stranger. A woman called me and it turned out that I didn't know her at all, she had just dialled the wrong number. But by the time we found out we were already into a nice conversation and kept talking. She obviously enjoyed speaking thai with a farang. Even better: she called me again:)
There is even something about my flawed body that they like: my skin.
I give a shit about skin colour and I would probably look more healthy
if I had more of a tan, well but if they  like it..“ very very white“- why not taking advantage of that?
Weatherwise I was totally lucky!!!
Some parts of the country were being totally flooded (worst floods for 70
years- 94 people died!) and I hardly got any rain at all. It seems I
travelled with the good weather.
I had done things on this trip that I
hadn't done ever before but I have my reasons if I didn't write about
It seems I had to learn a lesson on
this trip too: It's about unfulfilled hope, too high expectations and
disappointment. Whenever I hoped for something to happen so much it
didn't, did I expect anything to be good it wasn't and I got
disappointed easily.
But if I was able to free my mind,
trying not expect anything, the most beautiful things just happened-
let it be Dude!
Since I left Saturday morning the road
to the airport wasn't congested as usual and I got there by taxi in
no time. Never went that cheap to the airport either. Well if I
travelled with less lugagge I would definetely try the new airport
link to Paya Thai and get a BTS skytrain from there.
Next time...
Don't know when that will be yet. I
keep telling them that I hope it will be next year but that it
depends on money and time.
Now it's job hunt time for me again
plus I've to face the cold of an European winter.

Thanks Nita, it was much fun bwriting the blog on the road and it's a nice way sharing memories.
I know it's getting cool in Thailand now, but think of it: winter in Thailand is like summer in Europe ;)
