Got an early start this morning and headed off by 8 am. Stopped first to drive through the Jackson Elk Wintering grounds. No Elk around, as obviously, it's not winter. But, amazing views. Then, headed off to Grand Teton National Park. Discovered that Grand Tetons actually means big tits in french. LOL Took every senic byway I saw and saw a prairie dog? I think? Small rodent anyway. Other than that, not a lot of animals in GT. Within a couple horus I hit Yellowstone, and decided to take the GRAND Loop. I was pulling in to Old Faithful parking lot when, HOLY SHIT!!! A Bison just walked in front of the car! Just sauntered right onto the road. I just about fell out of the car. There was a whole herd of close to 20 I would guess. One of the Bison got into a little Mexican Standoff with a motorcyclist and I watched as he Whuffed and made some threatening gestures at the poor guy. If that had been me I would have been shitting my pants. The buffalo finally decided to wander off the road and let the guy pass. Sooooo, I found a parking spot.(there were sooooo many people there) Just as I got onto the walkways one of the geysers erupted in the distance. The Beehive it was called. It went off for nearly 5 minutes. I spent over three hours walking around the boardwalk. Over 5 miles and BOY! Were my feet sore. Went into the lodge and bought a T-shirt and some books. Then back in the car and back on the road. Continued to see Bison, and so many other animals. Deer, Elk, Black Bear, Big Horn Sheep, It really was an incredible day. I drove all the way to Wapiti WY where I checked into the Green River Inn. Advertised CHEAP rates. Right. Eighty bucks later I had a bed, but I had no Idea what was down the road and I was feeling tired. Better to stop while me and the car were still uninjured.
