Ok, Wow. Well today was a long day. Yesterday and today: 1340.3 Kms Driven. I forgot to check last night, but I think it was about 600 Kms.

And..

One full of neat, and new experiences.

First. Everything started off smoothly, the ride from Revelstoke to Golden was fine. Filled up with gas, and back on the road. 5 kms up the road I stopped to look at a vista and,(for those of you who are uncomfortable about bodily functions, skip to the next ***) began to feel a rumbling in my tummy. UH OH! * What's a holiday without an argument about not going to the bathroom when already stopped? (I may be the only one in the car, but I've already had the 1st "I told you so"... moment)

Back to Golden Sunlight on distant mountains
Sunlight on distant mountains
. This was an encounter planned by the gods. Around the first corner. that I had JUST passed going the other direction. Was a Massive. Big Horn Sheep! Right on the shoulder of the road! *tires screeching as the car jolts to a halt* I pulled over and got out camera in hand. Crossed the road, and eased a little closer, *Big Sheep could care less*  I stood there entranced as he unconcernedly scratched his ass on a handy telephone pole.*shutter clicks* THEN, bushes begin to move and the rest of the family appeared! Like 6 or 7 of them. The first one turned to look and seemed to say c'mon everybody, lets go. and then lazily jumped up on and then over the "cement roadside thingys" and sauntered across the road en masse. TOTALLY COOL!

***
Ok all you sensitive people can start now

Back to Golden and found a Fas Gas.
While I was there, I rechecked the transmission fluid and oil, then dropped the oil cap into a CREVASSE in the hot engine.*stares stupidly into the dark hot narrow space* Tried to get it with the oil stick. Reached in and got engine grease on my NEW JACKET!! Arrgh. Pulled the jacket off and shoved my sleeves up and reached in Big Sky Canada

. With some contortions I managed to reach it. Whew.

Back in the car. BACK on the road yet again. At the next vista, I noticed the car was running kind of rough. Hmmm, no engine light. Not hot. The only thing I did recently, was to fill up with gas. GOD! I hope there wasn't any water in the gas. Can't see or feel anything wrong except it's running kind of rough. Decide to keep driving and see if it smooths out.

All the way through Yoho, it ran rough, but ok. When I got to Lake Louise, I stopped at another gas station, put in $15 gas to fill it and bought a bottle of fuel additive JIC. Canmore. STILL running rough. Keep driving as there's no other symptoms. Finally, something occured to me as I was driving through Lacombe. However, I didn't want to go rooting around in a hot engine again so I continued on till I got to Leduc and stopped for dinner at a White Spot.

This is at 9 pm but it's still light out, so I went in and ate. Come out at quarter to 10 and pop the hood.

WHADDAYA KNOW!!! There's a loose spark plug cable! D'oh!!! *smacks self in forehead* I can now truthfully  say I spent a whole day not firing on all cylinders. AND I crossed the Rockies on that day too! Ah well. Alls well that ends well.

Ask me later about the Speed Whore two doors down and on the ground floor of tonight's hotel later. I gotta go to bed. :o)
