We have spent the last ten days or so chilling but the pool, a wee bit of shopping, drinking and smoking up a storm, in and amongst visiting the east coast (Candi Dasa) and spending some time in a few newly made friends uber fancy villas. However, instead of blabbing on about all the things we did in the last ten days and leave you bored stiff, we thought we would make this entry an au revoir to Bali and share with you our overall experience.

We have learnt that just because there may be a soap container in a bathroom, it doesn't mean there is necessarily soap in it. That a good shower that doesn't flood or is more than a mere trickle is hard to come by, that traffic is organised chaos, that vuvuzelas are a huge success and used on any given occasion, particularly Christmas and new year.

We have watched many a sunset and a couple of sunrises. We have met people who claim their father is Ghandi and their mother Marilyn Monroe. We have seen beauty that is beyond explaining in the surroundings and made friends for life with people from all around the globe. We have been witness to the most phenomenal fireworks for a continuous 4-5 hours and a bizarre yet fabulous Christmas Day.

And finally, we have been deeply touched by the magnificence of this small island - its contagious humbleness, happiness and hospitality. The rest of the world that we are about to experience has a whole hell of a lot to live up to.

As our driver, and now friend, Made, would say - THIS IS BALI!

We could stay forever, but the search for the inner nomad is only a month and a half in and we have people and places to see - on to Singapore we go for a couple of days, until then take it easy...

P.S. we are getting there with the pics, almost all of them are up so check out our dropbox folder if ya fancy
