Our Australian adventure has come to an end and a sense of both excitement and sadness has settled within us. We have had the most exciting, special and incredible time here. Australia, you did good, thank you! You will be missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts - not least all the people we caught up with but also the fact we decided to say our "I Do's" whilst here.

The rest of our time in Melbourne was a blast, we had a crazy barbeque on Australia Day (I promised I'd use that word only for this particular day) with great friends of ours and met some very cool Aussies. We dined with friends from Bali and Chris's mates from university days. We had long chats and coffee with Dudley, and Emma and I caught up to present day with the happenings of the last 10 years.

Melbourne is a funky metropolis with road side cafes, people from all walks of life and a vibe (and climate) not far off Cape Town. It was with heavy hearts that we departed on 2nd Feb, she treated us well, Chris fell inlove with Chapel Street (no surprises there) and was gutted to say farewell to Kyle - though little did we know they would be seeing each other again only a week later ;-)

Arrived in Brisbane on the evening of 2nd Feb and my uncle Arthur picked us up from the station - it was so good to see him and he hasn't changed a bit from what I remember of him all those years ago. We drove straight to Granny Pam's abode and picked her up to join us for dinner that evening. Granny Pam...WE LOVE YOU, you are still the same beautiful, witty, exiting, honest and wonderful granny that I remember growing up with. You have not changed a bit and still do the same things, from washing up the dishes whilst everybody else is sitting outside chatting away, to baking your gorgeous cakes and ensuring everybody else is ok and happy, your selfless nature is admirable and I will miss you until eternity!

Arthur and Lou (uncle and aunt) very kindly allowed us to stay at their place, along with their two gorgeous staffy puppies - Red & Rosie, whom Chris fell completely inlove with - he has a real thing for animals: These puppies and Dudley's cat Sera were by far Chris's favourites! And the "talk" is on to get a puppy on our return...Arthur and Lou put on a family lunch for us at their place and we caught up with all the family I hadn't seen in about 23 years - kids I'd never met and even a cousin or two I hadn't met which was completely surreal & wonderful. We "tested" Chris that evening on the humongous family tree (or tree's) that I have and he passed with flying colours - there were about 30 people he had to remember so not bad going, particularly after the few bottles of red wine that were consumed that evening.

We were taken up the mountain to Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo, and shown the spectacular views of Brisbane city, we hung out in the city and checked out the man-made beach and stayed two nights in Redcliff with another aunt and uncle, Carol & Cliff. Carol & Cliff have a gorgeous flat looking over the sea/bay in Redcliff, which is about 45min outside of Brisbane. We took long walks along the promenade and drank delicious iced coffee before consuming home -made sushi, amongst other culinary delights.

It was again with a certain emptiness in or hearts that we said our farewells to all the Brisbane peeps, wondering when again we would see wouldn't be long...COFFS HARBOUR...READ ALL ABOUT IT...WEDDING ORGANISED IN FOUR DAYS...
